Do you know that feeling of using a tool that exudes power? Almost like, by using it, you’re creating something? Yeah. That’s how this machine felt. Here are the highlights:
Pros:
- Quiet. Strangely quiet.
- The build quality is high. It just feels heavy-duty.
- Easy to use and not very difficult to clean.

My Experience With the Vevor 10″ Meat Slicer
There’s a few reasons why you’re likely to buy a meat slicer.
- Slicing your own deli meats. It is legitimately cheaper to do this, yes, but you need to eat a lot of deli meat. The Costco whole deli ham was $2.69/lb and my local grocer sells it for $8.99/lb. So… that would mean roughly 47lbs to make up the cost. Not bad, not bad. Just a lot of honey ham lol!
- Making your own jerky, homemade sliced bread, or homemade bacon. Or making it easier on yourself to make grinders and cheesesteaks.
- You like cooking gadgets.
I personally fall into #2 and a little bit in #1. I’m just not dedicated enough to the cause of The Daily Sandwich. Maybe if we have 7 kids. So I got the Vevor 10″ meat slicer to make some delicious foods. But I did start with an old faithful, a sandwich.
I smoked an eye of round roast and seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic, onion, paprika, and an Italian blend. It was SO good. And we’ve got a ton of meat frozen for grinders, stir fry, and other random cooks!
Overall, the Vevor slicer worked great. It was quiet, was able to cut super thin and thick, and was simple to use. Here’s a list of features and the specs for those interested.
Features
- 150W powerful motor: This slicer is equipped with a 150W electric motor, which provides enough power to cut through meat, veggie, and bread effortlessly. It ran just fine in my kitchen outlets, so no worries about blowing a fuse.
- 10-inch blade: The slicer comes with a 10-inch blade that is perfect for slicing various types of food items. It can handle larger-sized items (roasts) just fine.
- Adjustable thickness control: With its adjustable thickness control, I can easily achieve my desired slicing thickness from paper-thin to 0.47 inches. You can cut deli meat thickness or plated Easter ham thickness.
- Sturdy construction: The slicer is made with a strong aluminum alloy base, which makes it durable and stable during operation. It feels like it’ll last a lifetime, which always makes you feel good after a purchase like this.
- Safety features: The slicer also has a blade safety guard and non-slip feet to ensure user safety during use.

Performance and Build Quality
Slicing Capability
The Vevor 10″ Commercial Meat Slicer has quite impressive slicing capabilities. I started with smoked eye of round roast, but also tried homemade bread, cheese, and some veggies to try just about anything I could think of that I wanted sliced & diced. It cut like butter.
My wife used it, too, without any issues or concerns. It was plenty large; I didn’t feel like I needed anything bigger.
As I mentioned above, the noise level (or lack thereof) was something that really stuck out. I mean, just check out this video. What do you NOT really hear? It was surprisingly quiet.
The adjustable thickness control made it simple to create ultra-thin slices or thicker cuts. It can cut just over 0″ to 0.47″ thick. The dial is in milimeters, but that’s not an issue. I found that about 1.5mm was perfect for sandwhich meat thickness. Turning the dial all the way up left me with “sliced Easter Ham” thickness.
Construction
The Vevor’s build is impressive. This slicer is made from cast aluminum, and weighs in at 35 pounds. It is sturdy and durable. To give a better idea, here are the key components and their corresponding materials:
- Blade: Metal (stainless steel)
- Food Carriage: Metal (cast aluminum)
- Thickness Control: Plastic
- Base: Metal (cast aluminum)
I’ve only had it for a few months, and there haven’t been issues so far. I will keep this updated if that ever changes. To be honest, there isn’t a lot more to report here. The sturdy build gives off that feeling of lasting a long time if I properly care for it. Speaking of…
Cleaning and Maintenance
One thing I was worried about before unboxing or ever using a meat slicer was keeping it clean and well-maintained. It seems complicated, and I want to make sure my investments last a while! Good news, it’s not as complicated as I feared. Here’s how I’ve been handling the Vevor 10″.
Cleaning Process
Cleaning it up IS a pain, but that goes for any slicer. One thing I learned is to plan ahead and tackle a lot of slicing at once because the clean-up is not worth it for just doing a little bit. It took me a good 20-30min to clean, and the Vevor 10″ was one of the easier clean-ups I’ve had. But here’s what you have to do:
- Turn it off, unplug it, and double-check that it’s unplugged. I’m not in the business of losing fingers.
- Unscrew the bladeguard knob. Carefully remove the blade guard.
- Use an allen wrench to remove the blade. This thing is SHARP, so make sure to use cut-proof gloves or a thick towel to grab it.
- Unscrew the handle knob from the carriage and remove the carriage.
- Clean all the parts separately with soap, water, and a non-abrasive cloth.
- Wipe down and sanitize the body of the slicer.
- Dry the parts. Re-oil underneath the blade guard after every few cleans. Reassemble the slicer.
Blade Sharpening
It’s essential to keep the blade sharp, as this, more than anything else, determines the quality of a slice. A dull blade will produce jagged, rough cuts and be harder to use. A blade kept in good condition will produce great slices every time.
Since sharpening a blade is no easy task, Vevor has added a great feature to the 10″ slicer: whetstones in the unit. It makes sharpening a breeze and something you can do after most uses.
To use them, first loosen the knob. Then turn them around, making sure that one stone sits over the blade and one under. Tighten the knob so that the bolts holding the stones in place fit above the notch cut for them. Then turn the slicer on. Press the button of the underneath stone so that it contacts the blade. Hold it there for two or three seconds. Then do the same for the stone above the blade and hold for one second. Finally, wipe the blade down with a cloth to remove any dust from the process and turn the stones back around. Viola! Your super slicer is ready for another round.
Final Thoughts on the Vevor 10″ Commercial Meat Slicer
I try a lot of products and it seems about half of them are made with materials that feel cheap and unreliable. It was a breath of fresh air unboxing this meat slicer.
The build quality is great, the performance is great, and it runs much quieter than expected.
