What is a Common Pellet Grill Sale?
Pellet grills are amazing pieces of equipment, so the average sale is typically only a few hundred dollars of the purchase price. When you are looking at grills that cost $2,000, this may not seem that significant.
That said, often times companies will throw in other items as part of the deal. ZGrills and Traeger have both been known to include covers, as well as other grilling supplies, when selling their pellet grills on sale. If you get $200 off the purchase price and a grill (typically about $100 on its own!), that is actually a good deal!
If you still can’t afford a pellet grill at these sales, the next best idea is to head to a liquidation sale. Often times large retailers will have these when they close or at the end of the season. These sales are hard to predict in advance, however, so you should subscribe to notification emails from your favorite retailer to lower your chances of missing this sale.

Secret Pellet Grill Deals
Maybe you are here because a friend of yours bragged about getting a pellet grill for a ridiculously low price. This is possible, especially if you are willing to purchase a pellet grill that has some cosmetic damage.
To find these deals, you’ll need to head to your local big-box retailer and ask if they have any liquidation deals. Some larger stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot may even have a section for the grills they can’t sell due to a small imperfection. Like the other liquidation deals, these are impossible to predict, and you will just have to hope to be lucky when you shop!
A second place people often find really good deals on pellet grills is Costco. If you can’t find a liquidation deal and have a Costco membership, it is probably worth checking out! Traeger specifically makes 4 different types of grills for Costco (one of them being the Fremont which is a pellet grill), and you can get these grills for much cheaper than their other lines.
For more secret deals, you may also want to check out the website of a seller rather than Amazon, as sometimes they are running sales that offer a discount deeper than Amazon does!

Are There Any Other Ways to Get a Deal on a Pellet Grill?
The last and final way you can save some money on a pellet grill is to purchase one which has been used. While this will save you hundreds of dollars, we generally don’t recommend it because you don’t know how the other person used the grill.
Even though you might be planning to take extra special care of your grill, someone else may have never cleaned or put a cover on theirs. Pellet grills additionally only last for about 10-12 years with good care. This means if you are buying a pellet grill at 5 years old and it hasn’t been cared for, it might start to break down within the first 2 years.
Overall, it is better to save your money until you can afford the grill of your dreams!

When Should You Not Buy a Pellet Grill?
All this talk about sales, and as you’ve learned, you can get a good deal almost all year round, depending on the brand you want to buy! So is there any time of year you shouldn’t buy a pellet grill?
Yes! As you notice, most of these sales are around specific holidays or at the end of the season. Right at the beginning of April and May, there are few, if any, sales because this is the beginning of the grilling season. If you are shopping for a grill in May (especially if you want a Traeger), it might be worthwhile to wait a month and see about a possible Father’s Day deal! You never know when you might score the pellet grill of your dreams at a discount.
