We’re thinking about moving soon and that got me wondering what I’d want in a backyard. As Thee Grilling Dad, you know I had to do it right. I contacted JD Elite Interiors and they stunned me with the design. Let’s take a look.

Dream Outdoor Kitchen
When I started thinking about what I wanted in my dream outdoor kitchen, there were a few non-negotiables. Here were my must-haves:
- Built-in gas grill for the ultimate convenience
- Built-in smoker because I gotta smoke my brisket somewhere
- Might as well build in a pizza oven while we’re at it too
- It had to have plenty of seating
That’s not too much to ask for, right?
I sent over the must-haves to Jon and his team and I was floored with the results. Let me walk you through my new dream outdoor oasis.
Griller’s Paradise
It took just 1 photo to mark everything off my must-have list. I’m either easy to please or they’re dang good at designing outdoor kitchens.
I love that they extended the indoor kitchen to the outdoor kitchen. I love the bar extending out from the window with the stools to keep the conversation flowing whether you’re in or out.
The best part, though? The grills. Hands down. It’s like having my very own outdoor culinary playground, and I couldn’t be happier.
Front and center, there’s a built-in kamado grill that’s perfect for those low-and-slow barbecue sessions. Right next to it, a built-in gas grill for when I need to whip up some burgers and dogs in a jiffy. Last, but not least, a rustic, yet modern pizza oven.
Seating for Everyone
A full dining room table plus the 4 stools at the window? Perfect, even for my family of 9.
I could see us having breakfast at the bar after making some breakfast burritos or steak and eggs. We could sit at the full table and have burgers for lunch. And I can just imagine all of the memories from pizza nights every Friday.
The Chill After the Grill
Opposite the outdoor kitchen is this fantastic spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy each other’s company.
With a modern gas fireplace and plenty of places to sit, this looks like a great spot to unwind. And the glass allows for no view interruptions.
The only thing I’d add is a gas patio heater for the wintertime.
The Backyard Oasis
I love this view. Not only do you see the incredible pool with even more places to hang out, but you get to see the full deck–the grill spot and the chill spot.
If you were to ask me to draw up my dream backyard, there’s no way I could’ve come up with this.
What do you think–would this be the backyard of your dreams? What would you add?
